GEOFON Program

Two stations in the GE network deployed during the GITEWS project are back on-line. Kaadhehdhoo (KAAM) in the Maldives was repaired by the local partners of the Maldives Meteorological Service after receiving training in Jakarta. The old Tolitoli (TOLI) station in Sulawesi has been moved to a new site named TOLI2 by BMKG partners with the support of the GEOFON maintenance team. Both stations were off-line for almost one year. This work was an outcome of the PROTECTS capacity-building programme.
